Data Center Roofs Built to Protect What's Running Underneath
Kodiak Roofing & Waterproofing designs and installs data center roofs engineered for facilities where downtime is not an option.
Why Data Center Roofs Demand a Different Standard
A roof failure above active server halls doesn’t stay a roofing problem. Water intrusion can trigger automatic system shutdowns, hardware damage, and SLA violation payments to enterprise clients that dwarf the cost of the roofing system itself. Kodiak plans around that reality, and around the density of mechanical equipment most commercial roofs never encounter, from the first drawing.
Built Around Rooftop Equipment
Dense rooftop equipment leaves little room for drainage error, and a mistake here means water pooling where it shouldn't. We design drainage and penetrations around your specific HVAC and mechanical layout.
Infrared Moisture Scanning Standard on Every Visit
Infrared thermography detects temperature differentials that reveal moisture-saturated insulation before it's visible from above or below, turning a potential catastrophic failure into a managed maintenance event.
Full-Service Roofing for Data Centers, Start to Finish
Get new construction, ongoing maintenance, and emergency repair from one accountable team, so you’re never scrambling to find a contractor when every hour matters.
New Construction Roofing
Kodiak builds new roof systems around your mechanical plan from day one, well before equipment layouts are finalized. That early coordination means fewer surprises and no costly retrofits once the facility goes live.
Re-Roofing
Because an aging roof over live equipment turns a routine replacement into a high-stakes project, we plan every re-roofing job in phases so your facility is never left fully exposed.
Preventative Maintenance
Semi-annual inspections with infrared moisture scanning catch subsurface moisture before it reaches the server environment, not after. That’s a higher standard than the annual cadence most commercial roofs need, and data centers warrant it.
Emergency Leak Repair
Kodiak targets a 2-hour or less on-site response for data center emergency calls, the top-priority dispatch category in our service queue, ahead of every other call type.
Roof Inspections
Our inspections catch roof wear long before it becomes a visible leak, giving you the chance to fix small issues before they turn into an incident report.
Insulated Wall Panels
Since temperature swings at the building envelope can strain the same cooling systems your roof protects, Kodiak installs insulated wall panels that stabilize the envelope so your HVAC isn’t fighting the building itself.
Commercial Waterproofing
We waterproof the surfaces most data center owners overlook, the below-grade areas where leaks often reach server rooms and electrical rooms long before they ever reach the roof.

Our Approach to Data Center Roofing
Most roofing crews aren’t used to working above racks of live equipment. We are, and it shows in how we plan, schedule, and document every job.
24/7 Operational Awareness
A crew that shows up at the wrong time can be as disruptive as the problem they’re fixing. We plan every visit around your facility’s uptime requirements, not our convenience.
Security Clearance That Starts With Google Bayview
Meeting Google’s construction quality standards, security protocols, and documentation requirements on the Bayview campus is the pre-qualification credential most data center GCs look for. Our crews carry that same discipline to every secure site: background checks, badging, no-photo policies, and escort requirements.
Documentation You Can Use
Missing documentation turns a simple warranty claim into a drawn-out dispute. We keep clear records from day one, so warranty claims and capital planning decisions are backed by real data.
