Low Slope Repair & Maintenance
An aging low slope roof still deserves real attention, and we deliver it, from repair and maintenance through eventual replacement, on your timeline.
What Servicing an Older Low Slope Roof Involves
Low slope roofing is multiple layers of asphalt, felt, and gravel low slope over time, and Kodiak’s approach to low slope roof repair reflects that layered construction: checking for trapped moisture between plies before patching anything on the surface, not just resealing whatever’s visible on top.
Repairing one layer without checking what’s happening underneath rarely solves the actual problem.
Low Slope Roof Repair
Kodiak patches and reseals ply damage and blistering on existing low slope systems, extending the roof’s life without pretending it’s a permanent fix. Blistering usually means moisture got trapped between layers during the original installation or a past repair, so Kodiak cuts out the damaged section and reseals it dry instead of trapping that same moisture under a new patch.
Low Slope Roofing Maintenance
Kodiak keeps an eye on gravel coverage, ply separation, and drainage on active low slope roofs, since those are the first signs an aging system is nearing the end. Bare spots where gravel has worn away expose the asphalt underneath to UV damage it was never built to take directly, so Kodiak re-embeds gravel or applies a protective coating before that exposure turns into a leak.

Your Old Roof Still Gets Kodiak's Full Attention
Replacing a roof just because the technology is older wastes money you don’t have to spend, and Kodiak won’t push you toward that unless the roof itself has actually earned it.
Your low slope roof gets the same certified crews and hands-on expertise as any newer system, real low slope know-how most contractors lost the day they switched to single-ply.
Deep Experience With Older Systems
Kodiak’s crews regularly work on active low slope systems across older industrial, warehouse, and institutional buildings, the kind of hands-on experience that doesn’t come from a quick refresher course.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Kodiak still install new low slope roofing?
For new installations, Kodiak typically recommends a modern single-ply system, since low slope roofing has largely been phased out industry-wide in favor of options with better long-term performance.
What system does Kodiak recommend when replacing an old low slope roof?
It depends on the building, but Kodiak often moves clients toward TPO or a similar single-ply system for better long-term performance.
Can an older low slope roof be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Kodiak repairs isolated ply damage and blistering on existing BUR roofs when the underlying system is still sound.
